Privacy Policy

Last Updated: June 29, 2026

1. Core Privacy Belief

At VidSnap, we believe privacy is a fundamental right. We do not require account registration, collect your personal email, or track your video browsing history.

2. Video Processing & Storage

We do not store your downloaded videos on our servers. When you request a download:

  • The request is sent to our backend server where the video is processed temporarily in the /tmp RAM directory.
  • Once the download is ready, it is streamed immediately to your client browser.
  • For Server-Sent Events (SSE) progress downloads, temporary files are scheduled for automatic cleanup and deleted from our servers within 5 minutes.

3. Browser Extension Data

The VidSnap browser extension processes video stream links locally in your browser to detect downloadable content. We do not transmit your web history, cookies, or browsing logs to our servers. Any network request interception is performed client-side to dynamically update the stream badges in the extension popup.

4. Cookies and Advertising

We use local storage only to remember user settings, such as theme selection. Third-party advertising partners (like Google AdSense) may use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to our website. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting your browser ad settings.

5. Legal Compliance

VidSnap is intended only for downloading content you own, Creative Commons licensed videos, or videos where you have explicit permission from the creator. Users are entirely responsible for their download activities and compliance with intellectual property laws.
